Statutory Accounts

Do you own a limited company, a limited liability partnership or are you a trustee of a charity in the High Wycombe area? If the answer to any these is yes then you will need to have statutory accounts prepared on an annual basis and submitted to either Companies House and/or the Charities Commission.

Preparing and filing accounts can seem to be a daunting task, which is why we are here to help you through the process and to ensure they are filed on time and in the correct format.

Preparation of statutory accounts

Statutory accounts need to be prepared, approved and filed with the relevant body within 9 months of the end of the financial year. We will prepare your accounts either using your own bookkeeping records or the bookkeeping information that we have prepared on your behalf.

If accounts are not submitted within the 9 month period then late filing penalties will be applied. As these penalties cannot be disputed, we will always ensure that accounts are prepared and submitted within the applicable time frame. This does, however, rely on the bookkeeping information being made available to us in a timely fashion, but we will always work closely with you so you know exactly what you need to provide by when.

Once the accounts have been prepared, we will provide a copy of the draft accounts. Depending on what suits you best, these accounts can either be emailed, sent by post or uploaded via our secure “file and sign” facility.

After the accounts have been submitted, we will have a meeting with you to discuss the results for the year and to answer any questions that you may have. We feel that it is important that you understand your annual accounts so we can go through the accounts whenever it suits you best, even if it’s months after they have been submitted.
